The Full Story
If you are buying a boat for the first time, or you are an experienced boater just looking at upgrading, chances are you are going to want a survey conducted for your new purchase. In fact, some lenders require a survey be completed to ensure the vessel is worth what you are paying. Regardless, it is always a great idea to have someone with experience take a detailed look at the hull, propulsion compartment, and overall condition of the vessel. You will want to know if there is any moister trapped within the hull, any non-obvious structural damage, general engine condition, safety equipment such as fire suppression, etc...
Captain Jason retired from the U.S. Coast Guard in 2020 and has over 20 years of experience in vessel operation and maintenance. We service Michigan's upper peninsula and northern Wisconsin. Cost varies by vessel, but a 50 cents/mile charge will be added for any survey conducted outside the Houghton County, MI area.
